MATHEMATICS ASSESSMENT YEAR 1
Details
This Australian Curriculum Mathematics Assessment for Year 1 covers Number & Algebra, Measurement & Geometry & Statistics & Probability. The package includes three assessments that will help to provide data that can be used to inform judgments of student achievement at certain times of the school year. It is recommended that they are administered at the following times:
Assessment A – beginning of the school year – based on Australian Curriculum Maths Foundation Year Content Descriptions. It is designed to assess the attainment of Foundation Year content.
Assessment B – end of Semester 1 – based on Australian Curriculum Maths Year One Content Descriptions.
Assessment C – end of Semester 2 – based on Australian Curriculum Maths Year One Content Descriptions.
Also included in the Australian Curriculum Mathematics Assessment for Year 1 package are answers and an Excel spreadsheet to record results. The spreadsheet will automatically provide total scores for each strand and a grand total, with a percentage, for each assessment. This gives an excellent overview of the students’ results and can be used to help you, the teacher, identify strengths and weaknesses, both for individuals and the whole class – very helpful for ongoing planning.
